In the Foreseeable Future

Posted on 3/6/2018

In these surreal times, we all need a little respite. I found mine in Archaic Greece! There was a lot going on around 600 BC. Ironically enough, it's still quite relevent for 2018 CE: The position of women, Income Inequality, Oligarchy, the use of a new medium (writing!), and the place of the arts in society! I'm doing a lot of constant research and the chapters are being composed carefully. It will be a historical novel but I want to get the history as accurate as possible. So please be patient with me. To add further inspiration, I'm planning a summer sojourn to a couple of Greek islands.

For your information, in the above painting, Sappho is not playing a Lyre. I think it's a Barbiton. It's sort of the Lyre's bigger cousin.
